Fresh Ideas Competition

Each year during Ohio’s One Water Conference, the Ohio American Water Works Association Young Professional (YP) Committee hosts the Fresh Ideas Competition. We give graduate students, undergraduates, and recent graduates the opportunity to submit an abstract on any drinking water-related research they have been involved in. Possible topics include source water protection, drinking water treatment, analytical methods, water distribution, and other water industry-related areas! Students compete with either a 40-minute oral or 10-minute poster presentation.

In their application, students state which type of presentation (oral and/or poster) interests them. Not only is this an excellent opportunity for students to network with fellow water professionals and share their knowledge with the water community, but they also compete for monetary prizes and the opportunity to present a poster at the American Water Works Association’s Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE). This trip is financially sponsored by OAWWA.
